Welcome

On behalf of our entire staff, welcome to Animal Hospital of Parkland home page. This Page has been prepared to introduce you to our hospital and answer many of your questions.

Animal medicine has made great strides in recent years and pets are now enjoying much longer and more trouble-free lives with the aid of qualified and conscientious health care professionals. We look forward to helping you enjoy the happiness that a healthy pet can provide.

In 1992 we completed and moved to our new modern hospital. It provides a comfortable sanitary environment where we can provide state of the art care for every patient. In 1996 we expanded and added a new isolation ward. We are a full service hospital offering everything from routine vaccination and preventive health care to advanced surgical, dental, and inpatient medical care.

As veterinary medicine becomes more specialized and sophisticated, there are times when it is in the best interest of your pet for its care to be handled by a specialist. We work closely with several board certified specialists in the Puget Sound region and will refer your pet if it needs such highly specialized care.

How To Schedule Appointments

To allow ample time for all patients we operate primarily by appointments. Each doctor is available for appointments or surgery based on a rotating schedule. If you prefer a specific doctor, please tell the receptionist when you schedule the appointment.

We sincerely attempt to adhere to our appointment schedule, realizing that your time is as valuable as ours. Occasionally, a surgery may take longer than expected, or emergencies arise, and a delay in our schedule may develop. We will try to contact you if we foresee this happening. If you wish to cancel an appointment, please try to give us 24 hours notice.

A drop off service is available for your convenience.

Coming To The Hospital

When you bring your pet to the hospital please understand that a veterinary waiting room can be a little stressful for some pets. For this reason we ask that you keep your pet on a leash, in a pet carrier, or held in your arms. Cardboard cat carriers may be purchased from the receptionist. Your pet and others in the waiting room will appreciate your consideration.

If your pet is coughing, has a bloody diarrhea, or you suspect it may be contagious, we request that you keep it outside, until called for.

If Your Pet Must Stay In The Hospital

If the need for major medical care arises, be assured that every up to date procedure and support equipment will be used to care for your loved one. Each pet that is sick or requires surgery is monitored carefully and given individual attention. They are even given a nice fluffy towel or blanket to sleep on.

For the safety of all pets in our care, your dog or cat must be current on required vaccinations. If not current your pet will be examined and the vaccines will be given during the pets stay in the hospital.  We currently require a completed series and current booster for the 3-way vaccine for cats and the Multi-vaccine with Parvo & Distemper for dogs.

Unless requested and provided for by the client we will feed your dog or cat the appropriate IAMS Veterinary Diet.
