Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Ernest P. Petersen our hospital administrator and owner of the hospital grew up in Washington state. Undergraduate schooling at The United States Military Academy and military service kept him away from this area for a number of years. He returned in 1979 to attend Washington State University earning the degrees Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Ph.D. in Veterinary Comparative Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology. After working for a time in Puyallup he purchased and reopened Animal Hospital of Parkland. His wife Pam is our Office Manager and keeps the administrative and business aspects of the practice running smoothly.

Dr. Mark A. Peterson (no relation to Dr. E. Petersen) graduated from Texas A&M University in 1997. He moved to the Puget Sound area after graduating and took a position at Animal Hospital on Midway, a small-animal clinic on beautiful Whidbey Island. Wanting to relocate to the South Puget Sound area, we convinced him to join our practice as a full-time associate in June 1998. His professional interests include Internal Medicine, and Computer applications in Veterinary Medicine

All of our staff are pet owners and understand your needs and concerns. Doctors and hospital staff maintain proficiency and keep up to date with the latest advances in veterinary care by attending post-graduate seminars and continuing education courses regularly. They are constantly bringing back new ideas and equipment to aid and care for your pet. Our staff doctors are more than willing to speak to groups with an interest in veterinary medicine.
